The mission of the Franklin Middle School professional school counseling program is to provide a comprehensive developmental counseling program that ensures every student achieves the highest possible education in the areas of academic, career, and personal/social development through an aggressive partnership with students, family, school and community.

Counseling Events for 2017-2018:
6th Grade Career Event-Tuesday, November 14th volunteers from Cedar Rapids will share their careers with 6th graders. Students will rotate to 3 different speakers.
7th Grade Career Event-Tuesday, December 15th our students will visit the Kirkwood Outreach Center in Hiawatha. Students will be placed in a group and rotate to 3 different lab stations. The stations will offer different learning opportunities that connect to different career opportunities in our community.
January 18th will be presentations at Franklin for both Kennedy and Washington. Kennedy will be at 8:41 and Washington is to TBA but it will be in the afternoon sometime.
January 29th will be parent night at Washington from 6:30-9:30 at Washington
February 6th Fine Arts Assembly at all the high schools
February 12th is Cougar Talks
- 6:15 Fine Arts
- 7:00 PACT/AP Classes
- 7:30 Athletics
Feb 13th will be High School registration
Feb 14th we'll be working on the 4 Year Plan
Week of May 14th-8th Grade Financial Literacy Fair
