Franklin Middle School - October 30th, 2014
Dance Marathon: Our ninth dance marathon will be next Friday, November 7th from 3:00-5:00 PM in the lower gym. Admission is 5.00. Those wanting to be "Spirit Dancers" can pick up a donation form in the main office. By raising $25 or more, you will have a chance to throw a pie at a staff member, perhaps even Mr. Baylor or Mr. Ptacek!
The days leading up to the dance are also full of activities. The Money Mash will start on Tuesday, November 4th. Bring your change to your home room teacher for a chance to win some candy for your class. Use checks or paper money to LOWER the total of your closest competitors. Prizes will be awarded daily.
A bake sale will also be held on Thursday and Friday next week. Help us out by baking and delivering your goodies to the eighth grade science teachers in the morning. Bring some more change and treat yourself to some dessert during the lunch hours.
Thank you for all you can do to make the lives of kids facing cancer a little brighter
Costa Rica Trip Summer 2015: Interested in white water rafting, hiking in the rainforest, visiting schools in other countries and ziplining? See Mr. Kelsey in room 206 for more information and a flyer. A parent meeting will be held next Thursday, November 6th at 6pm
Cougar Club Volleyball: Our Cougar Volleyball Club information is here! 6th, 7th, or 8th grade girls interested in Cougar volleyball tryouts stop by the counseling office for information.
Student Lounge: This is a reminder to students who are using the Student Lounge area for lunches on Monday, working on homework, and just a place to study quietly. Please remember to clean up after yourselves when you are done. There are Clorox wipes in the lounge if you need to wipe down tables or wipe up spills on the floor. Please do your PARRT and leave no trace that you have been in the lounge. It is important that you leave it so others can use it through out the day. Our expectations here at FMS is for everyone to have a clean and safe environment. It starts by helping out in picking up and leaving common areas clean for others to use. We want to be able to keep this area open to students through out the day.
Parents of Seventh Graders:
This letter (click here) is on the back of the mid-term grade report. If you have not seen this please read and respond only if you do not want your child to participate.
Cooler Weather on the Horizon: A reminder to students, as the weather gets cooler you will want to make sure you are prepared to wait outside. Warmer clothes would include hats and gloves. As you enter the building remember to remove your hats and hoods so you do not have to be reminded by a staff member. We want to make sure you are doing your PARRT and following the Franklin Building Expectations.
