Early Dismissal Day: Wednesday, December 3rd is an early dismissal day. Franklin will dismiss at 12:30 on that afternoon.

Please Check the Lost and Found
This is a reminder to students to check your classroom Lost and Found and also the Counseling Office Lost and Found. If you have left something in the lunchroom, auditorium or hallway the Counseling Office may have it. If you are missing papers, books, supplies and other classroom items you should be looking for those in your classroom first. The Counseling office lost and found is over flowing. Over Thanksgiving break what is left in the lost and found will be recycled to the Salvation Army.

Snow Bucks for December:
A special promotion will begin on December 1st. Instead of Bolt Bucks teachers will be handing out Snow Bucks. Snow Bucks can be used just like bolt bucks in the Bolt Store. However the special promotion during December will be for students to spend their Snow bucks for gifts they can see in the display case on third floor. A few things will already be in the display case prior to break, but other things will continue to be added to the display during the days following break. These gifts are for students who would like to use them for holiday gift giving to family members or friends. The Franklin Student Council will be wrapping these gifts if requested. Gift wrapping will take place before and after school as well as during the lunch hour. Students will fill out a form if they want their gift wrapped. Wrapping sessions will begin on December 18th and end on the December 22nd. Students can enter the drawing to make gift selections by putting their name in the clear boxes on the shelf at the Bolt Store. Beginning the morning on Dec. 17th we will draw 10 names from the display boxes on the counter by the Bolt Store. Those students have until the morning of Dec. 18th to make a selection from the gift display. Again on the morning of Dec. 18th we will draw 10 more names (so long as there are gifts to select). We will repeat the process again on the 19th. If there still are gifts on the 22nd we will draw on that day. When a student has their name is drawn, they will make their selection from the display case and even use the Snow Buck that was drawn with their name on it. They can enter as many times as they want. We are hopeful each student will have a chance to participate and find a gift(s) to give during the holiday season. This will be an easy way for them to shop for family and friends.

PARRT Assemblies: During the week of November 3-7 we held grade level assemblies to hand out 1st Quarter PARRT Awards. PARRT is the way we teach expectations throughout the building. This acronym stands for Personal Best, Active Listening, Respect, Responsibility, and Trustworthiness. At the end of every quarter we will distribute awards for students who have met the following criteria:

Besides being recognized in front of their peers they also received a certificate with the following items to be redeemed: 4 front of the line lunch passes, eat lunch with a friend in the student lounge, 20 Bolt Bucks, and 1 homework pass. To see the list of students who qualified for 1st Quarter click here.

Dance Marathon: Thank you to all our students and faculty who helped make this year's Dance Marathon a huge success. With everybody's effort, our final is raised is $5045.12.

Attention Students: This is a reminder to students that you are expected to place your book bags, purses, and athletic string bags in your locker and not to carry these into your classrooms. At the end of the day these items may be removed and taken home. Please follow this Franklin expectation. Everyone needs to do their PARRT to make Franklin a safe and secure place to be. As a side note; Some students have been given special permission by the clinic to carry a bag or purse for health reasons. This is a person by person case.

Student Lounge: This is a reminder to students who are using the Student Lounge area for lunches on Monday, working on homework, and just a place to study quietly. Please remember to clean up after yourselves when you are done. There are Clorox wipes in the lounge if you need to wipe down tables or wipe up spills on the floor. Please do your PARRT and leave no trace that you have been in the lounge. It is important that you leave it so others can use it through out the day. Our expectations here at FMS is for everyone to have a clean and safe environment. It starts by helping out in picking up and leaving common areas clean for others to use. We want to be able to keep this area open to students through out the day.

Cooler Weather on the Horizon: A reminder to students, as the weather gets cooler you will want to make sure you are prepared to wait outside. Warmer clothes would include hats and gloves. As you enter the building remember to remove your hats and hoods so you do not have to be reminded by a staff member. We want to make sure you are doing your PARRT and following the Franklin Building Expectations.
