Hy-Vee Receipt Fundraiser Students, do you want to have some fun and do help raise money for Franklin? We have been collecting Hy-Vee receipts all year long to raise money for Franklin. For every $200 in receipts that are turned in, Franklin receive $1. The deadline for this year’s receipts is next Wednesday, April 30th. We will be doing a final week HY-VEE RECEIPT DRIVE. This will be a challenge between 5th hour classes. Bring in Hy-Vee receipts from any Cedar Rapids or Marion Hy-Vee store (Drug Store or Gas Station) from May 1st, 2013 to April 30th, 2014 and turn them into your 5th hour teacher. The class that collects the most money in receipts will receive a pizza party. The last day to turn in receipts will be Thursday, May 1st.
Attention 8th grade girls attending Kennedy HS this fall Kennedy will be hosting a girls’ basketball meeting @ Kennedy in the Black Box on April 30th 6:30-7:30. The coaches will be going over our summer itinerary, expectations, and providing an opportunity to meet the coaching staff. If you could share that with interested 8th grade girls and potentially give us an idea of who all to expect, it would be greatly appreciated.

Frankly Speaking Correction: Congratulations to sixth grader, Brenna McRae, for her wonderful website designed for National History Day Competition in March in Iowa City. Her topic was Rosie the Riveter.
Also, congratulations to sixth grader, Keegan McRae, for his outstanding Optimist speech.
(Our sincere apologies for omitting Brenna’s project from Frankly Speaking and the misspelling on Keegan’s last name.)

We’ll practice in March/April and will play games from May through early July. We’re not a traveling team so nearly all games/tournaments will be in the Cedar Rapids Metro area.
Pre-season practices are held twice a week at an indoor facility. Outdoor practices and home games are held at McKinley Middle School.
The Junior Warriors Baseball Program exists to support Washington High School with the development of players who exhibit top-notch skills and sportsmanship. The Program draws upon players attending feeder Middle and Elementary schools.
Please contact Coach Rafael Jacobo via phone (319-533-7100) or e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you’re interested.
