Calling all PACT Students  If you participated in any PACT activities this year with Mrs. Siebenga, you are being asked to fill out an Interest Survey for the 2012-2013 school year.  Take a look at the activities and have a discussion with your parents.  If you have any questions about any of the activities give me a call or send me an e-mail.

My number is 558-1975 and my e-mail is dsiebenga@cr.k12.ia.us.

I will be inviting you to the computer lab on Wednesday, May 23rd, Thursday, May 24th, and Tuesday, May 29th to fill out your PACT Interest Survey.  Please be ready to make choices by those dates.   You are also free to fill out the survey at home after you have had a discussion with your parents.  Please consider carefully the choices and rate only those you are sure you want to participate in with a four rating!  PLEASE BE SURE TO PUT YOUR NAME and GRADE at the BOTTOM of the form, otherwise I will not know you filled it out and you will need to fill it out again.

I have enjoyed all of the PACT students this year and am really looking forward to next year and working with all of you again.  You are all awesome!

Franklin weekly bulletin

Dear Franklin Community,

Welcome to the Benjamin Franklin web site. I hope that you find the web site informational for your specific needs. Franklin has had a storied past as a junior high, a high school, and for the last 20 years, a middle school. I am very proud of Franklin ’s history and excited about being part of Franklin ’s future.

At BFMS, we have high expectations for students, staff, and parents. Excellence is expected in the areas of academics, extra-curricular activities, and behavior. Although these areas are commendable, we will continue to strive for “Excellence for All”. This district-wide initiative is very evident in every classroom at Franklin .

This fall we will continue to focus on our three school wide goals: reading improvement, math computation, and the social/emotional well being of our students. Our plan is to make sure that all parties involved both understand the goals, and work to become part of the solution.

My charge to parents is to be involved. It has been proven that students that have parents involved in the school process will have more success in schools. There are a multitude of opportunities to volunteer in the classroom, and we would love to have you also be a part of our progressive PTA that supports Franklin . Most importantly, ask questions of your students, check the PowerSchool grading system, or contact your teachers. We are here to make middle school a productive learning experience.
